May this end be the beginning

This little album ‘May this end be the Beginning’, marks the end of a long journey that began in 2020. After years of leading social artistic projects with groups and individuals from all over the world, along with their music, I suddenly found myself locked down with only me.
Convinced I could not write songs or music, the journey began. It has been exciting, surprising, moving, and sometimes hilarious. With the help of amazing and very patient musicians, and an unexpected grant from the government, I started to discover my musical self. An adventure that took me beyond my edges, I embraced the new and let go of the old and not-so-old. It’s been good. It leaves me wanting more, someday.
I hope you enjoy the result of this journey.

No Way Around

I wrote this song primarily for myself, for those moments when my head is filled with all these little voices telling me it’s just not worth it and I’d better stay curled up on my couch. The lyrics are a compilation of all the wonderful encouragements fantastic people gave me, or what I managed to come up with myself, or how that one quote on the tea bag was just spot on. And guess what, it worked! So I thought, who knows, maybe there’s someone out there for whom it also works. With a big thank you to Ayla Nereo (here on Bandcamp), who holds an online space called ‘The Living Song’ for creative singers and songwriters, making a huge difference for all of us with her magical encouraging wonder words.

Wizards

Wizards is one of the songs on my very first album I will release somewhere in spring. With only a few sentences and not knowing what the song was about, I found myself sitting in a huge and very old hollow tree somewhere in Sweden. She told me everything about letting go. I gave her a big hug, and on my way back home the whole song came through, lyrics and melody. Three amazing musicians added their musical inspiration to it, and so Wizards came to life. I hope you enjoy it. Music video will be out soon! With love, Johanna

May this be
the End

2020 was a powerful year for all of us.
We were shaken up from the bottom to the soul. I started to write songs. ‘May this be the end’ was written in the summer of 2020.

With this song, a never expected journey started and here I am, after three years, presenting you my first product as a songwriter,
my first recorded, mixed and mastered song.
My prayer for this planet.
May this end be the beginning…

Munay Mani

This album offers 7 Sanskrit mantras that can be linked to the 7 main chakras, preceded by the Ganesh mantra and closed by the great Om Mani Padme Hum mantra for compassion. Chanting or reciting mantras is becoming part of yoga and meditation practices all over the world.

With these Sanskrit mantras, Johanna Blumm invites you to join her in the powerful ‘Japa’ practice of repeating the same mantra 108 times. These ancient vibrational codes are understood on a deeper level by the body, mind and soul, and contain information that can heal and rebalance your energy. There is evidence that chanting, besides a healthy lifestyle and happy thoughts, can support your immune system.

You can also just relax, breathe and listen. The rich arrangements enhance the energy of the mantra, and warmly accompany you throughout the chant.
