Johanna Blumm

Johanna Blumm is a singer-songwriter and soundscaper from Belgium. She has spent over 15 years exploring cross-cultural and sacred sound. In her commitment to fostering more connected and compassionate communities, she founded a nonprofit organization from 2008 to 2023 to support her work. She organized meditation circles and conducted inclusive singing workshops and choirs for people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, sometimes in special environments such as prisons and safe houses.

She released her debut album Munay Mani on Bandcamp in 2020. This album features Sanskrit mantras, inviting listeners to participate in the powerful Japa practice of repeating the same mantra 108 times. These ancient vibrational codes resonate deeply with the body, mind, and soul. The musical arrangements enhance the energy of the mantras, providing warm accompaniment throughout the chants. Chanting or reciting mantras is increasingly integrated into yoga and meditation practices worldwide.

More recently, she has discovered herself as a songwriter. Drawing inspiration from singer-songwriter Ayla Nereo and her online community, The Living Song, Johanna has begun crafting songs to express her experiences in this fascinating and unpredictable world through music. Her initial releases can be found here. The ongoing journey called ‘life’ continues to move her, and she offers her gratitude to all who accompany her along the way. Thank you for being here.
